• Recitation Data: Audio recordings of Quran recitations that you upload, including associated metadata such as chapter information
• Social Activity: Posts, likes, and follows
• Device Information: Push notification tokens (FCM tokens) for delivering notifications
• Location Data: Country code and country display name (if provided)
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including which recitations you listen to and save

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Tilawat service
• Create and manage your account
• Display your recitations and profile to other users
• Enable social features such as following reciters
• Send you notifications about new recitations, follow requests, and other activity
• Improve and personalize your experience
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase, a service provided by Google. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

Tilawat uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, database storage, cloud functions, and push notifications. Firebase's privacy policy applies to data processed through their services.
• Firebase Storage: For storing audio recordings and profile images

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Public Profile: Your username, profile image, bio, and recitations are visible to other users of the app
• Service Providers: We share data with Firebase and other service providers necessary to operate the app

• Account Deletion: When you delete your account, we remove your personal data as described in Section 7

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which will permanently remove your data
• Privacy Settings: You can make your account private to control who can see your recitations
• Blocking: You can block other users to prevent them from viewing your content or contacting you
• Notifications: You can manage notification preferences in the app settings

7. Account Deletion

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your user profile and account information
• All your recitations (posts)
• Your likes
• Your follow relationships
• Your feed data

Please note that some information may remain in backup systems for a limited time, and information you've shared with other users (such as comments on their posts) may remain visible.

8. Children's Privacy

Tilawat is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

9. International Users

Tilawat is operated from the United States. If you are using Tilawat from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
